The DB9 was designed by Henrik Fisker and replaced the DB7 as Aston Martin's grand touring superstar. Although the successor to the DB7, Aston elected not to call it the DB8 for fears the name may suggest it only had a V8 engine instead of the potent V12.

Introduced in 2003 the DB9 was the first model to be manufactured at AM's new plant in Gaydon, and was built around the Ford derived 'VH' platform chassis, constructed extensively from aluminium and boasted significant improvements in both weight and torsional rigidity. This improved chassis housed double wishbone suspension at all corners and later models received adaptive dampers.

Powered by the 6.0 V12 the DB9 produced 450bhp and 420lbft of torque, power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a rear mounted 6 speed manual Graziano transaxle (a ZF sourced automatic was also available) and propels the DB9 to 60mph in 4.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 186mph (165mph limited in the Volante).

We have completed both coupe and Volante versions of the DB9 and can produce almost all variations on request if we don't have them on file. Please contact us with any questions or to enquire about any specific requirements!
